Giving a Hand Up, Not a Hand Out.

Bay Area Professional Organizer Teresa Riccobuono’s goal is to work her magic on a person’s physical appearance so they present their best to the world. "When people feel that they look great, they exude a confidence that is working on the inside as well as the outside." This passion speaks so strongly to her that she has written a television show on just this subject.

Over the past 30 years Teresa has honed her skills in what she calls ‘recycled retail’ in other words, thrift store shopping. Teresa teaches others how to purchase top notch clothing at next to nothing prices. “I can wardrobe someone for a job interview for $50.00 top to bottom.”

While waiting for the show to get picked up, Teresa is focusing on local charities that mirror her mission. Two specifically that she is currently targeting is Wardrobe for Opportunity and Women's Initiative for Self-Employent (WISE).

Almost two decades of volunteering
Since 1987, she has been volunteering for local and national charities.  She has built houses for Habitat for Humanity and done fundraising for a whole host of organizations, but lately she has been embarking on a new line of thinking as it relates to charitable work. “When someone feels they can conquer the world, there’s a good chance they will.”, says Riccobuono. “I want to help individuals using more direct, hands on skill development, to teach them something that will benefit them throughout their life.”

For the past 20 years, Teresa, also a certified image and color consultant, has been helping people improve their lives. During that time she has noticed that people’s lives have become more hectic, more impersonal and more possession oriented. “People have forgotten what is truly important in this world” she says, “and my mission is to change that.” In fact, her life mission reads, To Take Action to Improve at Least One Person’s Life Every Day.

Get organized and lose 40 lbs. in one day
As a professional organizer, Teresa brings her stress relieving skills to individuals who are drowning in clutter and disorganization. “I hear again and again from clients that they feel a weight lifted off of their shoulders once we have worked together. I was working with a client recently who said at the end of the day, ‘Teresa, I think we lost more than 40 pounds today’. It brings me great pride and satisfaction to bring that kind of calm and organization to someone’s life.” Visit her website at www.SimplyOrganized.com for information and tips on organizing and for more information about her TV show Search and Rescue as it becomes a reality.

The old adage, if you want to get something done, ask a busy person applies here. Teresa has come to realize, just as others have, that the more she does to help others, the more fulfilled her life becomes.
